Magic stain remover...yes another claim to have the answer!

But this one worked!

Carpet stain removers are expensive and rarely work. I tried a few randomness things from Pinterest and decided to take the good parts and make my own concoction.

All you need is baking soda, hydrogen peroxide, blue dawn dish soap, a spray bottle, clean rag and vacuum.

First start by sprinkling baking soda over the stains and let it sit for at least 15-20 minutes. Long doesn't hurt if you get caught up doing something else in between. I was taking care of my sick 8 month old in between doing this project.

While the baking soda is sitting, take your squirt bottle and fill with the hydrogen peroxide and dawn. The mixture should be mostly peroxide and just enough dawn to change the color to blue. If you don't have a squirt bottle you could use a bowl and rag,but seriously you can get them for 50 cents.

Next vacuum up the baking soda then immediately spray your mixture on the stain. Even after it sits for half a minute the stain will start to go go away. Scrub with the rag to get the remainder up. And after it drys you will have amazing results!

These are not doctored, but yes the coloring is different because they were taken at different times of the day..lighting.

Oh it's not the best on red stains, still working on a solution to that one!

Day 7: Indoor Picnic

My little monster man came down with a mini cold so we had to cancel the play date we had planned. So instead I decided we would have a picnic lunch inside. To keep the fever down I didn't want him playing around much so I fixed a special lunch complete with peanut butter and jelly sushi, and chopsticks!

Day 5: Nature Scavenger Hunt

Whenever I get the chance, for exercise I have been going on walk/jogs with Cecelia on the trail at a nearby park. The track is a mile long and the last time I went I am proud to say I did the mile in just over 15 minutes. If you know me then you know this is freaking amazing because running is NOT my thing. But when you can't get to the gym there aren't many options. Cecelia usually sleeps or just watches the view and enjoys the breeze.

This day I decided to take Daniel. It was a nice day, not too hot and the exercise would be good for him. I've tried to take him just walking with me before and it turned into a huge headache so this time I needed to make it interesting. I found this great nature scavenger hunt with pictures on The bird feed nyc. We took our time walking the trail, and found everything except the animal tracks. He claimed to have seen a bear but I wasn't buying that one!

Day 6: Playdate

The thing Daniel misses most about school is his friends, especially Cole. He calls Cole his brother and they are best friends. Cole has a little sister named Eva who is only a few months older than Cecelia so she had her first play date! Plus their mom Carlie is awesome. There is a link to her blog at the right of these posts. Please check it out along with her Etsy store because she makes amazing crochet items!

The boys swam for about 15 minutes and of course my tall and lanky boy got cold.

So as boys do it was off to the yard to play and run!

The girls played with princesses! Cecelia mostly just put them in her mouth, but I know she had a blast!

Such a fun time was had by all and I know we are looking forward to hanging out again.

Day 4: Birthday Party for a friend

The son of one of my husband's co-workers was having a birthday party and our family was invited. This gave Daniel the opportunity to play with kids and meet new people. They enjoyed all the fun of a child's birthday with balloons, hot dogs, cake and ice cream. Cecelia even tried a little icing for the first time, which of course I still feel guilty about. She's only 8 months and isn't supposed to have things like that yet. But she didn't get sick and is still peeing and pooping regularly so it's not that bad. Still guilty...

Day 3: Indoor Pool

In 1995 my husband and I met through swim team. We both love the water so it is only natural our kids would too. Daniel loves the water, and as much as Cecelia enjoys bath time I know she will be a little water baby!

I wanted to get my little man in the pool to have a little lesson, play, and get him acclimated with the water again. It took a few minutes but the fear went away and the cold set in. It wasa normal temperature for an indoor lap pool, but after 20 minutes he was shivering so we called it quits. To warm up I let him play in a shower in the locker room, where he spent more time than in the pool even washing himself!

Before we left Daniel had one last thing to discover...

That he fits in the lockers! :)

Day 2: Library on Post

My son Daniel loves books and since he did not get to go to the library at school he was excited of the idea to visit the library on post. We spent quite a while looking through books, reading some and picking out the best ones. He walked away with four books, but would have gotten more if I had let him. We have all summer to continue to check out books! I would have to say my favorite is the Dr Suess book about money (one he actually doesn't have).
